Mailbox Surprises: Reusing My “Trash” To Surprise Someone Else.
I have this little game I like to play…I realize I start a lot of stories this way…but this is my world and I love it. So, here is how the game goes…
Every time I receive an item in the mail it…obviously…comes in a box or large envelop. This transporting material could be considered trash.
Most people use it once and toss it.
But here is where I insert the fun.
For every package I receive I must then turn around and fill it with an unexpected surprise for someone else! I do not have a “rule” as to what the surprise needs to be other than it can not be frugal, liquid or potentially hazardous, contain lithium batteries or perfume. Most of the time it is something I made or something silly I found that reminds me of the friend. I always slip a note in saying they absolutely do not need to keep this item and to feel free to pass it along when the time comes.
No object guilt will come from me.
This month I received two packages, both things I needed…but this means I have two surprises to plan!
Just the thought of planning a surprise makes me giddy!
Cheers to mailbox surprises.
Cheers to reusing my trash.
Cheers to the silly games I find myself playing!
